Welcome to the dubizzle Host Community!
Whether you're listing your first property or you're a seasoned professional, we're here to help you succeed. This hub is your central guide to everything you need to know about hosting on Holiday Homes.
Our goal is to empower you to provide outstanding hospitality, maximise your earnings, and manage your listings with ease.
1. Getting Started: Creating Your Listing
Your listing is the first impression guests have of your property. Make it count! A great listing attracts more guests and can lead to higher earnings.
- Crafting a Compelling Title & Description: A compelling listing is your best sales tool and first impression. Start with a catchy title that highlights your property's key features, like its location or a unique amenity. In the description, use an inviting tone to tell a story about the guest experience, then provide specific details about the space, amenities, and the neighbourhood. Be honest and specific, using clear, descriptive language to help guests confidently choose your property.
- High-Quality Photography: Photos are the most important part of your listing. Get our top tips on lighting, angles, and staging to make your property shine.
- Setting the Right Price: Set nightly rates and add fees for cleaning. Remember to regularly review your prices to ensure you remain competitive and your calendar stays booked.
- Managing Your Calendar & Availability: block dates, set minimum/maximum night stays, and sync your dubizzle calendar with other calendars to avoid double bookings.
- Instant booking: If you enable instant bookings for your property, you will receive bookings without the need to confirm the guest’s reservation.
2. The Listing Approval Process
After you submit your listing, our team reviews it to ensure it meets our quality and safety standards. This step is essential for maintaining a trustworthy platform for both hosts and guests.
- What Do We Review? Our moderation team carefully checks your listing for:
- Quality: Clear photos, a detailed description, and a complete list of amenities.
- Compliance: Confirmation that your property has a valid DET Holiday Home Permit.
- Accuracy: Ensuring the location, price, and property details are accurate.
- Safety: Making sure you have listed essential safety features.
- Approval Timeline: The review process is typically completed within 4-12 hours. We will notify you via email as soon as it's complete.
- If Your Listing is Approved: Congratulations! Your listing will automatically go live on the dubizzle platform, and you can start receiving booking requests.
- If Your Listing Needs Changes: We will send you an email with clear, actionable feedback on what needs to be updated. Once you've made the changes, you can easily resubmit it for another review.

4. Policies: Cancellation & House Rules
Clear policies protect your revenue, manage guest expectations, and prevent misunderstandings.
- Customizable Cancellation Policies: To give you more control over your business, you can choose from a variety of cancellation policies for your property. Whether you prefer to offer guests more flexibility or want to ensure your payout is protected with a stricter policy, you can select the option that best fits your needs.
- Options include: Flexible, Moderate, Limited, Firm, Strict, or Non-refundable.
- How it works: Depending on the policy you choose, guest refunds will be calculated based on either the time of booking or the days remaining before check-in.
- What does this mean for you? If you choose a "Firm" or "Strict" policy, for example, your payout is protected against last-minute cancellations. You can review and update your selected policy at any time within your Listing Settings.
- Setting Clear House Rules: Protect your property by being upfront about your expectations. You can set rules for things like pets, smoking, parties, and quiet hours directly within the listing editor. Guests are required to agree to these rules before their booking is confirmed.
